As great as the Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley rivalry has been, it has to come to an end now. Not that it has gotten stale, but there are many more things AEW can do with the two men if they are kept apart. Their rivalry began when Moxley debuted for the company and laid down the then AEW Champion Chris Jericho and Omega.

The first singles match of their rivalry took place at AEW Full Gear 2019 in an Unsanctioned Lights Out match where Moxley came up victorious. Their next bout took place almost a year later at AEW Dynamite's special episode Winter is Coming, where Kenny Omega defeated Moxley to become the AEW Champion.

The only logical way to end their rivalry is to let Omega retain his title. If not, Moxley becoming the champion could bring things back to square one. With Kenny Omega as the champion, AEW can build towards the already existing narrative threads like his steadily simmering feud with Hangman Page.
