In the preview to AEW Dynamite, it wasn't announced who Jon Moxley's opponent would be, so one had to assume that it would be a squash match. And it needed to be one because this is a man who was the World Champion not long ago, who's fallen down the ranks, who needed a big win to remind us why he's still the biggest star on this show.
However, Nick Comoroto, who, to his credit does look like he could be a future star, had quite the impressive showing against Jon Moxley on AEW Dynamite this week. While it's a big step up for him, this was not the match that Moxley needed to have, quite honestly.
If Tony Khan is truly invested in Comoroto, he should have played a package on AEW Dynamite to showcase who the guy is, because not as many people tune in to watch Dark every week.
Cody Rhodes took far too long to defeat Peter Avalon as well, but at least we've seen him before.
