Tony Schiavone introduced Sting to the ring on AEW Dynamite. Just when The Icon was about to speak up, Team Tazz appeared on the screen, sitting in their car. Tazz said they had 'someplace to go', revealing Darby Allin was locked in a body bag. They drove off the car with the bag tied to it, dragging it along behind the car. Sting rushed back to make the save for the TNT Champion but it was not revealed if he was able to save Allin or not.

In a pre-taped segment, AEW Champion Kenny Omega was playing golf and said he had already proven to everyone that he was the greatest wrestler of all time and did not have to prepare for his matches anymore. Don Callis too appeared, and the two walked off together.

Leyla Hirsch and Thunder Rosa began their match on AEW Dynamite with both the athletes engaged in back and forth action to get the better of each other. Hirsch delivered a suicide dive to Rosa but failed when she tried to execute another dive.

During the commercial break, Rosa was in control and tried to wear down her opponent. The two gelled well together due to their similar amateur wrestling background.

Back from the break, Rosa was still in the dominant position. Hirsch executed a couple of German Suplexes and followed it up with a failed moonsault attempt.

After a terrific final sequence, Rosa delivers a Michinoku Driver for the win. Rosa has qualified for the second round of the women's tournament.
