#2 FTR vs. Young Bucks for the AEW Tag Team Championships (AEW Full Gear 2020)

One of the most anticipated contests of the entire AEW Full Gear card has to be the AEW Tag Team Championships match between FTR and The Young Bucks.

These two teams have been feuding via social media since 2016, with fans debating which was the better team. Since coming to AEW, these four men have hovered over one another, building to this first time ever encounter.

FTR defeated Hangman Page and Kenny Omega at All Out 2020 to win the AEW Tag Team Championships. The Young Bucks won a tumbler-chosen Fatal Four-Way match over Private Party, Dark Order and The Butcher and The Blade to qualify for a title shot at Full Gear. After that win, FTR attacked Matt and Nick Jackson, smashing Matt's leg in a steel chair in the process.

Although there has been four years of anticipation behind this battle, the buildup has been heavily criticized due to a misguided heel turn by the Bucks. Their attempt to show an edge confused most fans and created a strange dynamic to what should have been a straight forward buildup. FTR have already been critical of the buildup heading into Full Gear.

The last-minute addition of the Young Bucks not being able to compete for the tag straps with a loss did not do much to improve the build. With all that being said, these four men have waited and have wanted this match badly.

FTR have even stated this is the reason why they came to AEW. The two teams will surely have a classic tag team contest with expert in-ring work at Full Gear. With the new stipulation though, Young Bucks have to pull out a victory here.
