#4 ''There is a true competition" - AEW President Tony Khan on their rivalry with WWE
Tony Khan recently revealed there's certainly a level of intensity between WWE and AEW.
The rapid growth of All Elite Wrestling has prompted hardcore wrestling fans to compare them with a company that already has a strong foothold in the wrestling industry.
Speaking to Moose & Maggie on WFAN radio, Tony Khan discussed various topics and stated that there's true competition with Vince McMahon's company:
"It’s intense. It is a competition. There is no way around it. It’s a true competition. I’m really excited about being a challenger brand and taking on a huge company. And I think for a long time fans were demanding an alternative, and AEW on TNT has given them that. Normally we do our show on Wednesday nights.. I’m doing a special Friday Night Dynamite this week. And then in a couple weeks we return to our Wednesday timeslot, and we’ll be on Wednesdays from here on out", said Tony Khan (H/T-Wrestling Inc).
Tony Khan is well aware of the fact that their company is a challenger in this battle. In recent memory, AEW Dynamite has temporarily shifted to a Friday night slot, the same day that WWE Smackdown airs on television.
Due to this change, the AEW show has taken a noticeable dip in viewership compared to when it aired on Wednesdays.
