#1 AEW President Tony Khan reveals why he rejected the idea of having the Thunderdome concept in Daily's Place

AEW president and co-owner of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars Tony Khan recently revealed that he rejected the idea of installing the Thunderdome concept because he wants to produce shows for fans every week.
Back in August last year, WWE came up with the idea of installing the Video Wall concept inside the performance center, which would enable worldwide fans to virtually tune in to Raw and SmackDown.
Meanwhile, AEW made their in-ring talents sit in the arena to make it look like an actual live audience.
Speaking to UPI.com, Tony Khan discussed numerous topics, most notably why he rejected the Thunderdome concept. The AEW president stated that backstage officials did pitch the concept, but he focused more on having fans in attendance:
"I didn't want to have a video wall, and I pushed back when I got pushed to do a video wall," Khan said. "It was a fine idea and WWE did it, but it wasn't what I wanted to do. I respect it, it's good and it's economical, but I wanted to continue to find a way to do the shows for the fans every week", said Tony Khan.
Tony Khan further added that only fans can improve the product as they channelize the inner energy of the wrestler, and without them wrestling is incomplete
"Early in the pandemic, I was like let's create the experience of a drive-in movie. The fans make for a better product. We're finally selling ringside seats again, and we'll be doing that every week going forward", said Tony Khan.
AEW also became the first major wrestling company to have fans back in attendance last year.
