#2. Britt Baker suffers an injury at AEW Fyter Fest
Britt Baker successfully defended her AEW Women's World Championship against Nyla Rose this past week on Night 2 of Fyter Fest.
The reigning champion took to Twitter to confirm that she retained the title with a broken wrist. Baker posted a photo alongside former UFC star Paige VanZant with the message about her injury.
The good news is that Baker is not going to be away from AEW TV. Here's what AEW's Role Model tweeted out about her injury status:
With @paigevanzant …And oh yeah, I retained the title on Wednesday night at #aewdynamite with a broken wrist. Not taking any time off either. #AndStill
Britt Baker captured the AEW Women's title from Hikaru Shida at Double or Nothing 2021 and defended the belt for the first time at Fyter Fest.
While Rose was a formidable opponent, Baker is still in the early stages of her title reign, and she expectedly walked out of the show with the strap. Baker is a tough customer, as was evident from her unsanctioned match against Thunder Rosa.
While we may get more details about Britt Baker's injury in a few days, all of us at Sportskeeda Wrestling wish her a speedy recovery.
