A 33-year-old star has declared his intention to become a grand slam champion in AEW. The talent in question is Anthony Bowens.

Bowens is one half of The Acclaimed, alongside 'Platinum' Max Caster. The duo are former AEW World Tag Team Champions and have also won the World Trios Title with Billy Gunn. The three men were recently defeated by ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Bang Bang Gang at Dynasty 2024, resulting in Jay White and The Gunns becoming new Unified Trios Champions.

During a conversation on The Mark Hoke Show podcast, Anthony Bowens indicated that he and Caster were not finished with All Elite Wrestling's tag division, bringing up their record as a team and alluding to their previous championship wins.

“I think Max and I have some unfinished business in the tag team division. We are still proving that we are the best tag team alive. I mean, we do have the most wins as a team in the history of the company. Former AEW Tag Team Champions, former AEW Trios Champions."

The Scissor King went on to add that both he and Caster also had goals as singles performers, and asserted that he wanted to be a grand slam champion in All Elite Wrestling. Bowens even teased going after the TNT Championship, currently held by Adam Copeland.

“We’d love to win the tag team gold a second time, but we do also have singles aspirations. I would love to be a grand slam champion, win all those singles belts. We’ve won all the tag team gold that’s available at All Elite Wrestling, so why not win the TNT Championship? Why not go all the way to the top.” [H/T, Ewrestlingnews]

Prior to signing with All Elite Wrestling, Bowens competed as a singles star in independent promotions such as Right Coast Pro, HOG, and WrestlePro.

Anthony Bowens broke his silence after loss on AEW Rampage

Anthony Bowens took on former FTW Champion Brian Cage on the May 18, 2024, edition of Rampage, which was taped in the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. After a hard-hitting back-and-forth contest, The Machine picked up the win courtesy of a low blow on the New Jersey native.

On the heels of his loss, Bowens took to X/Twitter to send a message to his fans and apologize for the outcome of his battle against Cage.

"I'm sorry everyone, I'll figure it out #AEWRampage," tweeted Bowens.

It remains to be seen whether Anthony Bowens will be pushed as a singles competitor in All Elite Wrestling.
