A former WWE star is fine with ruining his chances of potentially signing with Tony Khan's AEW. The name in question is none other than EC3.
The 41-year-old signed with WWE in 2018 and seemed to have a promising run ahead after being presented as a top star in NXT. However, EC3 quickly fell victim to bad creative and was released by the promotion in 2020. He has since returned to the independent circuit and is a former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion.
In a recent edition of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws podcast with Dr. Chris Featherstone, EC3 claimed calling Tony Khan a mark could ruin his chances of signing with All Elite Wrestling but was fine with it.
"Maybe, calling him a mark and talking about weed hallucinations disqualifies me from future employment but that's ok." [1:06 - 1:53]

Former WWE star EC3 claims AEW CEO Tony Khan takes things too seriously
In the same exclusive video, former WWE star EC3 explained how Tony Khan takes the wrestlers too seriously and worries about their actions. He noted that a wrestler's job is to protect their character and draw money for the brand and the fans should not worry about anything else related to them.
"Yeah, Tony's a mark and it is a weed-induced hallucination. Whether it is funny or not, Tony would take it seriously and personally while the majority of us don't take any of it personally especially when it's a talking head podcast show or stupid comments on the internet, or commentary poking fun at our dumb antics or you know, you can't take this seriously. You approach the business with as much seriousness as you can to draw money protect your opponents, look the part, act the part, be the part, represent the brand, you take that super seriously. But what we do, you can't because you will not get out alive." [5:48-6:30]
Tony Khan has seemingly fixed the AEW product for the better after facing many issues like the All In 2023 and All Out 2022 controversies. We will have to wait and see if Khan keeps going in the right direction with the product.
