A wrestling veteran has revealed that Chuck Palumbo seemingly doesn't want to appear in AEW. The name being discussed is Billy Gunn.
Chuck Palumbo was Billy Gunn's tag team partner in WWE between 2001 and 2002. The duo was known as Billy and Chuck in the promotion. They are two-time Tag Team Champions.
Gunn recently appeared on the latest edition of Insight with Chris Van Vliet. During the interview, he was asked to comment on why fans never got to see his former tag team partner in AEW.
The Hall of Famer responded by saying that Palumbo had many things going on in his life. The 6-foot 7-inch star was approached with an idea to make an appearance in the Tony Khan-led promotion, but he rejected it as he was busy.
Billy Gunn added that he respected his friend's decision to take a step back from his pro wrestling career.
"He just has no desire right now. He has all his other stuff going on. I've asked him to do a couple of things. He just, it’s not that he won't do it for me, it's just not him anymore. The boys wanted him to come to my birthday celebration when we did the birthday thing. I called and asked him and he's got so much other stuff going on that he's okay that he doesn't do any of the wrestling, and I get it." [H/T: chrisvanvliet.com]
Max Caster tried to bring Chuck Palumbo to AEW
In May 2024, Max Caster appeared on an episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet. During the chat, The Acclaimed revealed that he tried to bring Chuck Palumbo to AEW to reunite him with Billy Gunn.
Caster and Anthony Bowens seemingly planned to introduce Palumbo during Billy Gunn's birthday bash segment on AEW Dynamite in November 2022. However, the plan couldn't materialize due to the veteran's busy schedule.
Max Caster also disclosed that he and Bowens also made efforts to bring in Rico, Bart Gunn, and Sean Waltman, but it was in vain.
