AEW drops major update on Kenny Omega's return

AEW star Kenny Omega is one of the top wrestlers the company has to offer. He is a former AEW World Champion and also the promotion's Executive Vice President. The Cleaner is set to return to NJPW before setting foot in the Jacksonville-based promotion. However, it may not be too long before he returns to AEW.

The Best Bout Machine has been absent from the company as a full-time performer for over a year. He made a brief return in May but was taken out by Elite and hasn't been seen in the promotion since. In December 2023, he announced that he was suffering from diverticulitis and could be out indefinitely.

Kenny Omega was recently cleared to wrestle and is making his grand return at NJPW. He will face Gabe Kidd at NJPW X AEW Wrestle Dynasty on January 5, 2025. The match was announced after Omega was involved in a backstage altercation with the reigning NJPW Strong Openweight Champion.

On tonight's edition of 'Holiday Bash' Dynamite, AEW teased Kenny Omega's return via a short vignette. It seems like he will be making his return very soon to the Jacksonville-based promotion.
