AEW seemingly dropped a tease regarding wrestling veteran Taz's attacker during the fifth-anniversary episode of Dynamite. The legend was revealed to have been attacked in the parking lot recently.
The official X/Twitter social media handle of All Elite Wrestling recently informed the fans that the former WWE and ECW legend, Taz will not be able to make it to the 'five-year anniversary' episode of Dynamite because he got attacked in the parking lot. The legend was replaced by Nigel McGuinness for the commentary on the show.
Taz also informed that he had been in the hospital as his leg had been "destroyed" in the attack. On Dynamite this week, Taz's son and AEW star, HOOK addressed his dad's attackers in a fiery backstage promo. Right after HOOK's promo, Christian Cage appeared on screen where he mentioned 'HOOK' as well.
The airing of Christian's promo right after HOOK addressed Taz's attacker is being seen as a subtle tease by some fans on the internet that Christian might be the one who attacked Taz. The user also pointed out how Christian Cage has an obsession with sons without fathers.
HOOK announced a major retirement on AEW Dynamite last week
Last week on AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, HOOK was slated to defend his FTW Championship against Roderick Strong. After a decent match, the 25-year-old star managed to retain the title with a win.
After his victory, HOOK surprisingly announced the retirement of the FTW title and handed it over to his dad, Taz, who brought the title into the industry. Taz also got emotional after the title's retirement and hugged his son with tears in his eyes.
The FTW title was introduced by Taz in ECW back in 1998. It was re-introduced by AEW in 2020 and there have been a number of champions before the title's retirement. Only time will tell what's next for HOOK.
