A certain WWE name recently talked about how a returning AEW star could begin a feud with Mercedes Moné after the conclusion of her match at Double or Nothing.

Britt Baker has not been seen in eight months, and many have been eagerly waiting for her return. With The CEO now in AEW, this has been a dream match that many wish for, seeing as the stars are on top of their game. Many have been looking forward to the promo battles and potential matches that the two could put on. Sam Roberts also has his say on how a potential feud between them could take shape at the PPV.

In a recent edition of Notsam Wrestling, Sam Roberts talked about which match could close Double or Nothing since there is reportedly a triple main event with the TBS Title match, the AEW World Title match, and the Anarchy in the Arena match, all lined up to potentially close the show. Roberts talked about how in the case that this was Mercedes Moné's debut match, they needed to end this with a major development in the story.

"Mercedes appears to be a villain. She appears to be a heel. She took the big table bump on Dynamite this week. The way she was talking to Willow, she seemed like she was the villain. And I would think she's gonna win the title right? It would seem like this is all being set up for Mercedes to get her win back against Willow Nightingale. Unless you've got some big signing, I mean you can have Britt Baker returning or something, like unless there's something big happening that is gonna push a Mercedes storyline forward." The WWE host brought up a scenario where Mercedes Moné would be standing in the middle of the ring only for Britt Baker to make her return and confront her and the scene of them starring each other down would end the show.

"You could have you know Mercedes telling them to get the hell out of her ring, she's celebrating, and Britt Baker comes back. And then your big go-home is Britt Baker and Mercedes kind of just staring off at each other which I feel like is the big, big match." [57:25-57:42]

Former AEW champion says Mercedes Moné's AEW debut might be the most important match of her career

With her much-awaited AEW in-ring debut finally taking place this coming weekend, all eyes will be on Mercedes Moné. This will also be her first match in a year, so fans will be looking forward to her bouncing back from injury.

In a recent edition of the Busted Open Radio, Thunder Rosa talked about how this could be the most important match of Mercedes Moné's career. Due to the expectations brought in by her reputation, and the buildup for her arrival to the promotion, everyone from across the industry will be tuning in, and they'll need to deliver.

"It's probably the most important match in her career because the anticipation is really high," she said. "They better deliver because if they don't they're gonna eat them alive." [H/T WrestlingInc.]
