AEW star Claudio Castagnoli sends a worrying message after big "failure" 

Claudio Castagnoli signed with AEW in 2022. The former WWE star is currently a member of the Death Riders, a faction whose language is mainly violence. Furthermore, he is the reigning AEW World Trios Champion alongside his stablemates, Wheeler Yuta and PAC.

On January 5th, the iconic Tokyo Dome hosted Wrestle Dynasty. The show featured twelve matches, all of which were spectacular. One of the best matches on the night was Claudio Castagnoli vs. NJPW star Shota Umino. This fifteen-minute-long showdown was hard-hitting and action-packed. Unfortunately, the Swiss Superman lost via pinfall.

After the pay-per-view concluded, the 44-year-old expressed his dissatisfaction with his performance in the aforementioned bout. In addition, he stated that he was going to do penance for his "failure."

"Tokyo Dome, Wrestle Dynasty. Not pleased with the result. I shall do penance for my failure."

It remains to be seen what 'penance' the AEW star was talking about. However, knowing how competitive he is, he could do something that might surprise fans.

• David Finlay defeated Brody King
• Shota Umino defeated Claudio Castagnoli
• Momo Watanabe defeated Athena, Willow Nightingale, and Persephone to win the International Women’s Cup
• Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara retained the ROH World Tag Team Championship against SHO and Yoshinobu Kanemaru of the House Of Torture
• The Young Bucks defeated United Empire and Los Ingobernables de Japon in a three-way match to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship
• Mercedes Moné defeated Mina Shirakawa by pinfall in a winner-takes-all match for the Strong Women's Championship and the Undisputed British Women's Championship
• Kenny Omega defeated Gabe Kidd
