AEW star MJF will be going back to his old persona for a major upcoming match. He has been a part of Hurt Syndicate for the past of past few weeks. He will be facing a huge challenge next week. Mistico, one of the biggest draws for the promotion, will square off against Maxwell next week on Grand Slam Mexico.

The Salt of the Earth won the International Championship on the 250th edition of Dynamite. After the win, he changed the title to the American Championship. During the title reign, he called himself the 'American Hero'. In just a couple of months, he had wrestled in multiple countries to defend the titles. One of the most mesmerizing matches was against Templario at CMLL.

Tonight on Summer Blockbuster, MJF confronted Mistico and the duo exchanged harsh words and even brawled in the squared circle. Later, MJF, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin took on Mascara Dorada, Mike Bailey, and Kevin Knight. After the Hurt Syndicate picked up the victory, Maxwell took Dorada's mask off.

Later, the former AEW World Champion took to X/Twitter and claimed that he would be losing to an American Hero, which means he would be bringing back the gimmick next week.

"Mistico….you’re gonna lose to an AMERICAN HERO!!!! That mask is MINE," he wrote.

It will be interesting to see who stands tall next week at Grand Slam: Mexico.
