Following the opening contest of this week's edition of AEW Rampage, a Blackpool Combat Club member was seen rejecting a sign of sportsmanship coming from a top star. This would be Claudio Castagnoli.

The Swiss star has not had the best year so far, as he has been unsuccessful in his campaigns to make major singles runs. Earlier tonight, he had a chance to go for a future world title opportunity, but he fell short once more.
Tonight, the Royal Rampage Battle Royale took place. With both rings being set up this week due to AEW Blood and Guts taking place a few days ago, several competitors competed in two separate Battle Royals. The survivors from each match then faced off in one final matchup to crown the official winner.

Claudio and Darby Allin came out as the finalists from the left and right ring. Despite a valiant effort, Allin emerged victorious after hitting a Coffin Drop on Castagnoli, earning a future AEW World Championship match at Grand Slam in September.
The former TNT Champion reached out to shake hands with the Blackpool Combat Club member, but he turned his back on him and walked away. This could be a hint that Claudio was growing tired of yet another loss.

Growing up, Enzo admired former world champions like AJ Styles, Will Ospreay, Bryan Danielson, Triple H, and Randy Orton for their finishing moves. As an adult, he started to appreciate their character work, as they juggled between heel and babyface gimmicks.
If allowed to produce one final storyline involving his idols, he would have Orton lock horns with John Cena, would be their one last big feud as both of them seem to be approaching the tail end of their careers.
