AEW star Mercedes Mone revealed why she walked out on WWE
In 2022, Mercedes Mone and Naomi shockingly walked out on WWE which resulted in the company stripping the duo of the Women's Tag Team Titles. In a recent interview with WFAN, the AEW TBS Women's Champion spoke about the controversial move and stated that she wanted to show WWE what they were doing wrong with her in terms of her booking:
"For me, I went from a Legit Boss to a CEO because I wanted to grow. There was something in my soul that said, 'You need to grow.' I wanted to be the CEO of my own life. There was a light source that came into my heart that day. 'You have to do what's right for you. What's happening right now at this moment is not right. You have to take your life in your hands and go make it happen. Go make your heart happy. Go let them know that what they're doing right now is wrong and show them.' I did."
Mercedes Mone is set to defend her TBS Women's Championship against Britt Baker at the All In PPV event on August 25. It will be interesting to see if the D.M.D. manages to defeat Mone at Wembley.
