A former AEW star who previously worked with Cody and Brandi Rhodes recently recalled one of the matches. He had a surprising message for the American Nightmare and his wife, among others.
José The Assistant first started making appearances in AEW in 2021. He quickly aligned himself with Andrade El Idolo. He served as Andrade's manager and would be at ringside for his matches, often getting involved in the 35-year-old's bouts as well.
Due to his association with El Idolo, José The Assistant got to work with several top stars in the company including Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare and Andrade were involved in a feud in 2021. Their first singles contest took place on the November 3, 2021, episode of Dynamite with Andrade picking up the victory.
José The Assistant recently recalled this match on social media and called it his favorite day out of his entire AEW run. He also thanked Andrade, Arn Anderson, Cody, and Brandi Rhodes.
"This was my favorite day out of my whole my #AEW run. Thank you CodyRhodes @AndradeElIdolo @TheArnShow @TheBrandiRhodes," he wrote.

Cody Rhodes addressed rumors about Tony Khan and Brandi Rhodes being the reason for his AEW exit
Cody Rhodes was one of the founding fathers of AEW. He served as an EVP as well as an onscreen talent. As a result, he was heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of the business.
As heavily invested as The American Nightmare was in All Elite Wrestling, he decided to leave the promotion suddenly and return to WWE. This led to much speculation about his departure from the Jacksonville-based company. One of the rumors doing the rounds was that Tony Khan didn't re-sign Brandi which was why Cody left the promotion.
Speaking on The Flagrant podcast, Cody Rhodes debunked these rumors by stating that Tony Khan had re-signed Brandi for the show, Rhodes to the Top. He even stated that the deal was renewed for a second season as well.
"When I start talking about this, people try to cite, 'Oh, it was this. It was this.' Here's what I can tell you it wasn't. It wasn't anything to do with Tony [Khan] and Brandi [Rhodes]. That's a big one you hear all the time that 'Tony didn't sign Brandi.' No, Brandi had been re-signed. Rhodes To The Top, we had a nice show on TBS, that had been renewed for a second season. Go Big Show," he said.
As it turns out, Cody Rhodes seemingly made the right decision to return to the Stamford-based promotion, as he is one of the biggest stars in the company presently while also being the Undisputed WWE Champion.
