A former AEW World Champion was destroyed by Bobby Lashley at the Full Gear 2024 pay-per-view. The two squared off in a major match on the show.
The former WWE star in question is Swerve Strickland. Swerve had a run in the Stamford-based promotion from 2019 to 2021. He has been feuding with The Hurt Syndicate ever since the faction arrived in Tony Khan's promotion. MVP even tried to recruit Swerve into the group, but he refused the offer.
Strickland later defeated Shelton Benjamin of The Hurt Syndicate on Fright Night Dynamite and was set to take on The All Mighty at Full Gear. The match at the pay-per-view was entirely dominated by Lashley, with Swerve getting a brief opening as well.
However, Lashley absolutely dismantled Swerve, forcing him to pass out with the hurt lock submission. The All Mighty won in his first AEW pay-per-view match within a month after his TV debut. After his win, The Hurt Syndicate took out Swerve's manager, Prince Nana, before leaving.
Moreover, Bobby Lashley continues to build momentum with his dominant win over the former AEW World Champion, Swerve Strickland, and only time will tell what's next for him.
