Jon Moxley successfully defended the AEW World Championship at the Full Gear pay-per-view. However, he accomplished the task with the help of a hooded figure who interfered in the bout.

Despite initially refusing to join the All Elite roster's battle against The Death Riders, Orange Cassidy decided to call out Jon Moxley for an AEW World Title match at Full Gear 2024 after the latter's teammates brutalized the Freshly Squeezed star's long-time friend Chuck Taylor on Dynamite. The two men went to war in the Prudential Center, with Cassidy bringing the fight to Moxley right off the bat, rattling The Purveyor of Violence with multiple Orange Punches.

However, the former BCC member soon re-established control in the matchup, which turned bloody and uncomfortable as expected. At one point, The Death Riders attempted to interfere in the bout on behalf of Moxley, but they would be foiled by The Conglomeration. Even Marina Shafir would be countered by a returning Willow Nightingale.

OC then cracked Moxley on the head with the case containing the AEW World Championship, but the latter survived. Despite Cassidy's amazing resilience, a sneaky Busaiku Knee from Wheeler Yuta in a hoodie opened up the former International Champion for a Death Rider from Moxley, who thus retained the belt in his first defense.

However, the night was not over for The Death Riders after this, as chaos broke out after the main event of Full Gear.
