A top AEW star has revealed that he is not friends with MJF and said that he hates him. This will come as no surprise to the fans.
Sammy Guevara was a trailblazer who had a great start in AEW. He was part of Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle and also the Jericho Appreciation Society. He is currently in a tag team with Dustin Rhodes and features quite heavily in Ring of Honor.
During the early days of AEW, Sammy Guevara, MJF, Darby Allin, and Jack Perry started together, and they were tipped to do great things. Known as the four pillars of the company, they achieved great things, but eventually went their separate ways.
In an interview with the Wrestling Classic, Guevara revealed that he hates MJF, who is now a part of the Hurt Syndicate.
“Everybody can have their own opinion of it and I see nothing wrong with it. If you think this person’s a pillar, that’s perfectly fine. You think this person is? Ultimately, it doesn’t change anything that me, Darby, Jungle (Jack Perry), or MJF -- I hate that guy -- did to help in the beginning. It doesn’t change anything that we did for many years in front of nobody during the pandemic. It doesn’t change that,” he said. [H/T Fightful]
Sammy Guevara reminisces humble beginnings in AEW
In the same interview, Sammy Guevara gave his opinion on how he, MJF, Darby Allin, and Jack Perry started with one goal: to be the best wrestler.
“We were just four guys that, especially during the pandemic, were doing crazy things to try to put this company on the map and try to take advantage of all our opportunities because ultimately, I believe that’s what AEW is about is pushing the younger guys and we were the four younger guys that were really trying to break through and whatever that meant, throwing caution to the wind, especially me and Darby (Allin).” [H/T Fightful]
It is great to see him acknowledge that, and it is safe to say that Sammy Guevara is one of the senior stars in the company right now.
