A former WWE Superstar has recently talked about a major target of theirs since departing from the Stamford-based promotion and making their way to AEW. This would be becoming the world champion.

Ricochet has made a lot of buzz since making his debut at All In in August. He has been in three title matches since joining the company, but although he has fallen short in all of them, they were still show-stealers. The former NXT North American Champion has only been pinned once since signing with the promotion.

In an interview with Fightful’s Iridian Fierro for WGN Radio 720, Ricochet talked about his goals in AEW. He mentioned wanting to build a resume for himself, which starts with becoming a champion in the company.

“What I want to accomplish is just continue to build the resume for Ricochet, continue to give the people you know something fun to watch. Obviously, I came to AEW, I want to be champion. I wanted to be the International Champion. That didn’t happen… yet, but it will. I want to win the Continental Classic. I want to be the AEW Champion. I want to be the Tag Team Champion. Obviously, those are goals that I think every wrestler needs to have.”

He continued by saying that, aside from this, he just wanted to create art in the ring. The former WWE Superstar wished to leave something that would last a lifetime in the industry, no matter what it was.

“But for me, again, I’ve been doing it so long that now, I want to tell good stories. I want to give people a good product. I want to create art that will last and that people will talk about, really at the end of the day, that’s my main goal, to create art. Art that will last a lifetime, and whether that’s a specific moment with a move, whether that’s a match, whether that’s a story, whether that’s a promo, whatever it is, I just want to continue to make art that will last.” said the high-flyer. Ricochet is set to make his Continental Classic debut this week on AEW Dynamite

Tomorrow on Dynamite, this year's edition of the Continental Classic is set to begin. This is a round-robin tournament with Kazuchika Okada's Continental Championship on the line.

Tony Khan recently announced that Ricochet, who has been revealed to be under the Gold League for the tournament, will face off against Claudio Castagnoli. This will be a first-time matchup in AEW, but it is not the first time these two have shared the ring, as they did so in WWE a couple of years ago.

The amount of talent in the tournament is overwhelming, and it remains to be seen whether the former WWE high-flyer will be able to make the most of his opportunity and leave the tournament as the champion.
