AEW recently announced a massive change to Grand Slam 2025. Fans have now given their thoughts on this development.
Ever since its inception, AEW has shown a lot of growth. Apart from expanding its roster size, the promotion has also done a couple of international shows. For the past two years, Tony Khan's promotion has hosted All In in London, England. Despite being a new promotion, they were able to fill over 50,000 seats for All In.
Given the success of All In, AEW made the bold decision to hold next year's episode of Dynamite Grand Slam from Australia. The show was originally set to take place in Suncorp Stadium in Milton, Australia. However, the Jacksonville-based promotion has now confirmed that the show has been viewed to a smaller venue and will now take place in Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Fans who have already purchased their tickets can get a refund or transfer it to the new venue:
"AEW Grand Slam: Australia has been officially moved to Brisbane Entertainment Centre! SAME DATE, FEB 15. JUST A SMALLER VENUE. 13,500 SEAT CAPACITY. The show was originally scheduled for Suncorp Stadium. Assuming everyone who bought their tickets can either get refund or transfer it to this show."
Several fans have since taken to social media to react to the whole situation. Check out some of the reactions below:
Tony Khan issues a statement about Adam Copeland's future in AEW
At Double or Nothing 2024, Adam Copeland defended his TNT Championships against Malakai Black in a barbed wire steel cage match. During the match, he went for the dive off the top of the cage and landed awkwardly. Although he was able to retain his title, he suffered a severe injury that forced him to relinquish his title. He has not been seen on TV since the injury.
During the AEW Full Gear media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about Adam Cole's return status. Tony said he hopes to see the former TNT Champion return from injury in the near future. He also said that Copeland's return will make a huge positive difference:
"Adam Copeland, we've been missing him very very much. He was doing so great for us this year as the TNT Champion. We really miss The Rated-R Superstar very much and I can't wait to hopefully at sometime in the near future get him back. It was really a devastating thing and we're really blessed to have such a great roster in AEW because everybody really stepped up. When you lose somebody so valuable to the team like Adam Copeland, it's always always gonna hurt. As soon as we get him back, it's gonna make a huge positive difference to have Adam Copeland back on this team." [From 01:42:18 to 01:42:54]
It will be interesting to see when Adam Copeland will make his return from his injury.
