Jack Perry had a violent confrontation with a 44-year-old AEW star on the five-year anniversary episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite. The latter was none other than Katsuyori Shibata.

The Wrestler interfered in The Scapegoat's affairs at Collision Grand Slam last week after Perry's successful TNT Championship defense against Minoru Suzuki, saving the 56-year-old NJPW veteran from a post-match assault at the hands of the heel up-and-comer.
Shibata confronted the former Jungle Boy backstage on the October 2, 2024, episode of AEW Dynamite, challenging him to put his TNT Title on the line against him at WrestleDream 2024. Perry responded by telling Shibata that he would consider it.

Immediately afterward, however, the 27-year-old star blindsided the former ROH Pure Champion, attacking Shibata and tossing him against his Scapegoat bus before accepting the challenge. The segment confirmed recent reports of a bout being planned between the two men in the Tacoma Dome.
It remains to be seen whether Katsuyori Shibata will be able to dethrone Jack Perry as the face of TNT at All Elite Wrestling's next pay-per-view on October 12.
