It's always a sad day when a wrestler is released from their company. AEW star Abadon recently announced their departure from the Jacksonville-based promotion a few weeks ago. They posted an Instagram story to announce that they are a free agent now.
The Living Dead Girl made their debut in Tony Khan's promotion nearly five years ago in a match against Hikaru Shida in March of 2020. Since then they have competed against big names like Shida and Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. They have also made a few appearances on episodes of Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision.
Back in May, Abadon announced that their AEW contract would expire in June and would not be renewed. They announced today that their contract has expired and they are a free agent now.
"OFFICIALLY A FREE AGENT; LET'S F****NG GO," they wrote.

Abadon was one of the most beloved stars on the AEW roster. Fans are excited to see where they go next in their wrestling career.
Veteran Konnan reacts to AEW not renewing Abadon's contract
After working for more than five years in the company, it was announced that Abadon won't have their AEW contract renewed in June. Professional wrestling veteran Konnan spoke on Tony Khan not renewing Abadon's contract during his Keepin' it 100 Official podcast.
The WCW legend talked about how the company tried to push Abadon during their early days in the promotion, but they never really got over with the fans.
"Number one, the girl never really got over. They pushed her hard at the beginning, okay, and, bro, that's what happens there, and I say it all the time; some people say, 'Oh, I'm getting paid!' Yeah, but your stock is also going down," he said. [From 2:23 - 2:36]
Now that they are a free agent, fans are expecting to see the Living Dead Girl in another promotion soon. There are also rumors suggesting that they might join WWE and become a member of the Wyatt Sicks.
