MJF has seemingly teased his next big feud in AEW and this is something that might surprise quite a few fans. This star is someone who already has a brief history with Maxwell.
The star in question is none other than Darby Allin. Allin and the former AEW World Champion were involved in a few matches previously, with their last one taking place at AEW Full Gear in 2021, which the latter won. The Salt of the Earth has been away from the spotlight since defeating Daniel Garcia at AEW All Out.
However, he has now hinted that Darby Allin could be his next rival with his social media activity. Darby recently posted how he gatecrashed a party and taught the kids how to perform a coffin drop. MJF responded to that particular tweet with a reply showing his support for Allin’s next opponent, Brody King.
He also posted an animation of him knocking out Darby from their match at Full Gear in 2021.
Is AJ Styles angry? A former WWE legend thinks so.
JBL hails MJF by calling him a great talent
John Bradshaw Layfield was one of the biggest heels during his time as an active wrestler and some of his mannerisms are mimicked by MJF. There are a lot of similarities between the two with regard to how they go about their business.
In an exclusive interview with Gerald Brisco, JBL was asked if he wanted to manage Maxwell to which he replied:
"I don’t know. It’s a great question. I’m a big fan of MJF. I’ve told this story a few times. I met him in England one time and got to ride to the airport with him and spent part of the day with him because we both had a signing and a big fan of his. He’s a really smart guy, he’s a sharp guy. I think he’s a great talent."
If the former WWE Champion does indeed come to AEW, then him possibly being Maxwell’s manager will be something that Tony Khan might consider.
