A top AEW star has just paid a quick tribute to WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio by using his finisher to help him score a win and capture a major championship. This would be Kommander.

Tonight at ROH Final Battle, a Survivor of the Fittest match took place with Brian Cage's ROH World TV Championship on the line. He faced off against the likes of Kommander, Blake Christian, AR Fox, Willie Mack, and Mark Davis.
Mark Davis eliminated The Machine, ensuring a new champion would be crowned tonight. Kommander and Blake Christian were the final two competitors left in the match.
After several back-and-forth exchanges, the luchador took control. He hit a Mexican Destroyer, which helped set him up to pay tribute to Rey Mysterio with a 619. The cherry on top of this was his hitting Cielito Lindo for the win, making him the new ROH TV Champion.

Last year, the AEW luchador fell short of becoming the champion after becoming the second placer to Kyle Fletcher in last year's Survival of the Fittest at Final Battle.
Now he has scored a monumental victory for his career, and he'll now look to hopefully close out the AEW Continental Classic on a high note as well.

Enzo Curabo
Enzo is a Pro Wrestling journalist at Sportskeeda, reporting on AEW. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Studies, which influenced his decision of taking up sports writing professionally, and has been an avid fan of the athletic theater since childhood. He believes readers deserve authentic and unique content and aims to report in a manner which pro wrestling fans can easily relate to.
Growing up, Enzo admired former world champions like AJ Styles, Will Ospreay, Bryan Danielson, Triple H, and Randy Orton for their finishing moves. As an adult, he started to appreciate their character work, as they juggled between heel and babyface gimmicks.
If allowed to produce one final storyline involving his idols, he would have Orton lock horns with John Cena, would be their one last big feud as both of them seem to be approaching the tail end of their careers.
Other than pro wrestling, Enzo enjoys keeping up with Basketball, Football, and Formula One. He also loves watching films, playing video games, and listening to music.
