Vince Russo reacts to The Judgement Day and War Raiders match on WWE RAW
Erik and Ivar were known as The War Raiders in NXT. However, after moving to the main roster, their name was changed to 'The Viking Raiders.' After running with the name for almost five years, the duo was repackaged back as their old name and made a dominating return to Monday Night RAW a few weeks ago.
The War Raiders also punched their ticket to challenge World Tag Team Champions JD McDonagh and Finn Balor of The Judgment Day. The match took place on the most recent edition of Monday Night RAW where Balor and McDonagh defeated Erik and Ivar to retain the titles.
Speaking on the Legion of RAW podcast, former WWE head writer Vince Russo questioned the decision and had no clue why the Stamford-based promotion kept the titles on Finn Balor and JD McDonagh. He also noted how the defeat hurt the credibility of The War Raiders, after displaying them as an unstoppable force in recent weeks.
"I don't know why they're keeping the belts on Finn Balor and JD McDonagh. I have no idea why they're keeping the belts on those guys. Those two guys mean absolutely nothing. So, you just beat another tag team in the Vikings," he said. [From 10:52 onwards]
It bears watching as to which tag team can finally dethrone The Judgement Day from the WWE World Tag Team Championship.
