Tony Khan has announced the signing of a former WWE name in a very surprising move on tonight's AEW Dynamite. This name in question was a member of the commentary team, Carlos Cabrera.
Cabrera's signing is just another piece of the puzzle being put together by the Jacksonville-based promotion, which has been on a signing spree throughout the early months of 2024.
Tony Khan took to social media to announce his newest signing in trademark AEW fashion. Cabrera got the All Elite treatment as Khan wrote:
“Welcome to the @AEW commentary team tonight on Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite! Carlos Cabrera is All Elite!”
Cabrera was a longtime member of WWE's Spanish announce team, and he will now join Taz, Excalibur, and Tony Schiavone on Dynamite. The move comes as the Jacksonville-based promotion continues to strengthen its ties with Latin America.
On top of working with AEW now, Carlos will also be working with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. It is interesting to see that partnership continue, and it should not come as a surprise as Tony Khan maintains a working relationship with AAA as well as CMLL.
