AEW invaded the iconic Hammerstein Ballroom last week to tape the Christmas special episode of Dynamite. The arena has a history of hosting raucous and often disruptive crowds - a tradition that was continued on the All Elite Wednesday night show.

The December 25 edition of Dynamite featured Darby Allin going one-on-one with Ricochet in a Continental Classic bout. The One and Only has been on a hot streak in the tournament, with three back-to-back victories against Komander, Brody King, and Will Ospreay. On the other hand, the former TNT Champion failed to capitalize on his win over The Aerial Assassin after Claudio Castagnoli used brass knuckles to beat him on AEW Christmas Collision.

Notably, Ricochet has been hinting at a turn to the dark side as of late, and his recent character work to that end earned him a markedly hostile reception from fans in the Hammerstein Ballroom on AEW Dynamite on 34th Street, just like it had on Collision last week. Members of the crowd aimed rolls of toilet paper at The Human Highlight Reel again in a display of disrespect during his entrance and even after the match started.

Ultimately, Ricochet and Darby wrestled to a time-limit draw, to the dismay of fans. In the process, the former WWE Superstar advanced to Worlds End 2024 and moved one step closer to winning the Continental Championship.
