Who will be the first star to claim the new WWE Heavyweight Championship?

The WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt is the latest title unveiled by the promotion, and many stars are already vying to capture it. However, former AEW star Big Swole recently criticized the move and called the belt a participation trophy.

Big Swole last appeared in WWE during the 2018 Mae Young Classic, but has been married to Hurt Bussiness' Cedric Alexander. While she wasn't a major star in the Jacksonville-based promotion, her exit and spat with Tony Khan is likely what many still remember.

During an interview with WrestlingNews.co, Big Swole criticized the creation of the new belt and echoed many fans' sentiments surrounding it.

"I feel like this is like a participation, like a ribbon," Swole said. "A participation ribbon you got as a kid for trying. You gave it the old college try. You got one of those purple fifth-place, sixth-place type of thing. That's kind of what it is." (H/T WrestlingINC)

It remains to be seen who the first holder of the new title will be, but some fans are hoping that it ends up being Cody Rhodes. However, many have pointed out that Brock Lesnar could likely cost him his shot at the belt, but fans will simply have to stay tuned.

Big Swole claims she predicted WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes' AEW departure

While he has yet to capture gold in WWE, The American Nightmare has been portrayed as a prominent name on the roster. With his loss to Roman Reigns and current feud with Brock Lesnar, he remains a major name in the promotion.

During an interview with The Ten Count, Big Swole recalled the events that led up to Cody's WWE debut and how she wasn't surprised that he left.

I had my own personal assumptions because I'm a people watcher and I look for signs and 'Nah, something's a little murky up over here' but nothing really official. But when he left, I was like 'Told you!' It just kinda felt like he was a little uneasy," Big Swole said. (H/T Wrestling Inc.)

Will The American Nightmare end up finding what was missing during his time in AEW or will his new venture in the Stamford-based promotion end up lacking in the end? Unfortunately, only time will tell.
