AEW star Toni Storm's blockbuster return to the company has reportedly caused a massive issue backstage due to major creative plans. She returned to the company after over three months.
The Timeless star is regarded as one of the top stars of 2024 due to her 'Timeless' gimmick. Not only her character, but her gripping story with Mariah May caught a lot of eyes. The duo showcased a relationship of mentor and prodigy, only for the Glamour to betray her and take her spotlight. They collided at Wembley Stadium, where Mariah captured the AEW Women's World Championship from her.
Since August, Toni Storm wasn't seen on AEW programming until the latest edition of Dynamite. She made her huge return following the main event between Mariah and Mina Shirakawa at 'Winter Is Coming' Dynamite. She also received a thunderous reaction from the crowd. Shockingly, she was announced to wrestle on Rampage moments after her comeback.
It seems that not only fans but also many people backstage were baffled by Tony Khan's surprising decision. As per Wrestling Observer Radio's Bryan Alvarez, many people backstage were stunned by this booking as she is too huge to be featured on Rampage, which is on the verge of shutting down.

Mariah May isn't flinching after Toni Storm's return
The reigning AEW Women's World Champion wasn't thrilled to see her former mentor return to the Jacksonville-based promotion.
Moments later, while speaking in an exclusive interview backstage, Mariah May claimed that she didn't care about the arrival of the 'Timeless' star.
"I don't give a f**k about Toni Storm. What happened to Toni is the same thing that happened to Mina, and exactly what is going to happen to Thunder Rosa. Every single woman I step in the ring with has the same hopes and dreams, and then they wish they were never born," she said.
It will be interesting to see when Toni and Mariah will cross paths again.
