“Streamer of the year was rigged”: xQc fans unhappy as Ludwig wins the award at Streamer Awards 2022

With the Streamer Awards coming to a close moments ago, the expected debate over winners is already in motion. Ludwig bagged the Streamer of the Year award among the four nominees, xQc Sykunno Mizkif. While all the nominees were present and congratulated Ludwig on his win, the same can't be said for their fans at home.

After the year he’s had with setting up multiple tournaments, music video cameos, show hosting gigs, the illustrious 31-day extravaganza that was his Subathon and more, the esteemed Streamer of the Year award goes to @LudwigAhgren #TheStreamerAwards

xQc fans outraged by Ludwig winning "Streamer of the Year" at the Streamer Awards

The event was held in West Hollywood, LA and all the winners were decided by objective voting criteria. To avoid turning the Streamer Awards into a popularity contest, the votes from fans would account for 70% of the winning criteria. In comparison, a panel selected by the organizers would hold the remaining 30%.

On the surface, there is no real benefit to QTCindrella, who organized the event, by rigging the votes in favor of any particular streamer. Outraged by xQc turning up empty in all categories, fans are alleging mischief on the part of the organizers.

@StreamerAwards @LudwigAhgren @coinbase I hate it when all of these people immediately assume it was rigged. I get you're mad that your streamer lost, and that's ok, but QT had literally no input into the final outcome

xQc fans are not agreeing with fellow viewers trying to create a middle ground between the fanbases

@StreamerAwards @LudwigAhgren @coinbase How is it even possible that he won ? Not tryna hate but XQC without a doubt has the largest/loyal fan base. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Mizkif but Ludwig ????

Many fans have cited the number of active viewers on xQc's streams and socials compared to Ludwig's over the past year. Real-world numbers of any streamer or other achievements are not the main considerations being made here.

The theme of the entire ceremony was based around rewarding streamers who had the most enjoyable livestream from a viewer's perspective. Hence, even the panel's votes were presumably made on these considerations.

Ludwig fans have come out to support him and are listing all the reasons for his deserved win.

@StreamerAwards @LudwigAhgren @coinbase I'm a big fan of Xqc and really wished he would win, but Ludwig definitely deserves it for popularizing if not inventing Subathon's with his legendary 31-day. Congrats Lud

While it remains to be seen if any official explanation will come from the Streamer Awards organizers, it should be noted that all the organizers have reiterated that the purpose of the event was a night of celebration for streamers and the competitive element was minimal. Comments by both streamers are also awaited as they will be important in how the entire issue pans out.
