Bobby McCain Madden 23 rating: Is New York Giants safety any good?

The newest member of the New York Giants, Bobby McCain, has a 78 overall rating on Madden 23. He was given this rating before the 2022-23 NFL season when he was playing for the Washington Commanders.

McCain's Madden 23 overall rating has some highlights, like 87 Speed, 87 Acceleration, 89 Agility, 89 Awareness, 89 Injury and 93 Stamina. These are pretty stats for a 29-year-old defender. His receiving ratings aren't anything to write home about, though, as he has some gnarly stats like 65 Carrying, 31 Trucking, 35 Stiff Arm, 65 Break Tackle and 15 Break Sack.

Bobby McCain's Madden 23 stats look just about right, as the above ratings aptly sum up the NFL veteran. In essence, the New York Giants Safety is a decent pickup and could be an impactful piece if used properly.

Furthermore, McCain has seemingly not called out Madden for allocating him a 78 overall rating in Madden 23, as NFL players typically throw some shade at the game if they feel Madden understates their greatness.

What will Bobby McCain bring to Dallas Cowboys?

By joining the New York Giants, Bobby McCain will play for his third NFL franchise since coming to the league in 2015. McCain is a versatile defender who can play both the safety and cornerback positions. He totalled 139 tackles and four interceptions with the Washington Commanders.

McCain will be a direct replacement for departed Giants' star safety Julian Love, who emerged as a starter for Wink Martindale's defence last year. Love, a 2019 fourth-round pick, joined the Seahawks on a two-year, $12 million contract, which was more than the Giants offered.

How did Bobby McCain perform for his former team?

Bobby McCain had a career year with the Washington Commanders last season, as the Memphis University alum put up career highs in several categories. He was a key part of an above-league-average defence in Washington, and his team was worse off in games he didn't play.

McCain put up a stat line of 76 total tackles (54 of which were solo, while the other 22 were assisted). He also added one forced fumble for good measure. McCain did not miss a single game last season and was reliable in the tensest of situations for the Commanders.

The New York Giants will hope that he brings that form to NY and help the team to another postseason appearance.
