4 ways WWE can proceed with Roman Reigns following WrestleMania 35

It feels like only yesterday when Roman Reigns announced that leukemia was back that forced him to relinquish the WWE Universal Title. However, not only is Roman Reigns back, he has also taken part in a singles match at WrestleMania against Drew McIntyre, which the Big Dog won.

He didn't appear on on TV on the Raw After Mania episode, however, he did make an appearance to bid Dean Ambrose a farewell after the show went off the air. With the Superstar Shake-up taking place in a few hours on SmackDown Live, there are a few ways in which WWE could head with regards to Reigns.

Should they keep him on RAW or should they move him to SmackDown? Here are 5 ways WWE could proceed with the Big Dog.

#4. Stay on RAW: Continue feud with Drew McIntyre

Reigns beat McIntyre at WrestleMania 35

This is the least likely option as we all know that a match at WrestleMania is basically the full-stop to feuds. However, I get the feeling that we didn’t get to see enough in this regard.

They had a match at Fastlane but it was a 3-on-3 contest between The Shield and the team of Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre. The feud really gathered steam after McIntyre assaulted the Big Dog on the episode of RAW following Fastlane.

Two more assaults on RAW later and the pair had their first official singles match at WrestleMania, which Reigns won cleanly. And then tonight on RAW, Reigns faced the team of Lashley, Corbin and McIntyre once again as he was paired with Seth Rollins and AJ Styles.

Once again though, it wasn't a singles encounter.

So there is a feeling that the feud didn’t last as long as it should have, given that they had only one match, and also counting the fact that McIntyre brought Reigns’ family into the angle in the ensuing war of words.

However, there is almost no chance for this feud to continue, and I hope it doesn't because McIntyre is set for a push into the Universal title picture.

#3. Go to SmackDown: Challenge Kofi Kingston for the WWE title

Kingston is the WWE Champion

Since AJ Styles has been drafted to RAW, there is a very good chance for Roman Reigns to be moved to SmackDown as the blue brand needs a big name after The Phenomenal One's departure.

The ones who have been watching Reigns ever since he made his first appearance on the main roster as a member of The Shield agree, that he was at his best as a member of the heel faction.

He talked little and was the muscle of the group, who could smash through anything. He also had the looks – still does – of a very serious man who could destroy anyone as a the bad guy.

However, going down that path wouldn't be wise as Reigns is finally getting cheered after a triumphant return from his battle against leukemia. In the meantime, turning Kingston heel would also not make sense as he is the most over Superstar right now.

As a result, Roman could challenge Kingston in a face vs. face feud. However, for this to work, a third Superstar who can play a heel's role needs to be added to the picture. This would just like how Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns fought each other for the number one contender's spot for Triple H's WWE Title with Lesnar being the third wheel.

#2. Stay on RAW: Challenge Rollins for the Universal title

Should he feud against his friend?

The whole idea of turning Reigns heel might sound unlikely, due to the fact that he is finally being cheered as a face. The only way Reigns vs. Rollins could work is with the Beast Slayer turning heel.

Roman Reigns had to relinquish the WWE Universal Title due to his returning leukemia, back in October 2018. Rollins now has the Universal Title that Reigns never lost in the first place. So, he could claim that he deserves a shot at it again, which is perfectly sellable.

However, as a result of that, Rollins could turn heel. He could attack Reigns viciously and kickstart another run as a heel champion. Some of Rollins' best work as a WWE Superstar was as the bad guy. Rollins has a natural heel's flair (his maniacal laugh, anyone?) and would do a wonderful job at it.

However, the fans might not like it if Rollins turns, so they might boo Roman anyway. As a result, the perfect feud for him would be against...

#1. Stay on RAW: Baron Corbin

This is the most likely scenario

Baron Corbin seems like the next opponent of Roman Reigns if rumors are to be believed. Even though this might look like a stale feud, there is a little bit of backstory surrounding the proposed angle.

When Roman Reigns announced the return of his leukemia, Corbin allegedly asked the WWE Universe to move on from him and also allegedly stated that he hoped Reigns never came back.

After Reigns did return, Corbin was asked about his comments and he stated that his words were due to stress and then went on to warn Reigns to stay out of his way.

There is some ember here that could be fired up and that seems like the path WWE might choose right now. The company might have paved the way for the same by pitting Reigns against him in a 3-man tag team match on RAW.

Also, given that Corbin is one of the most hated Superstars in the WWE right now, putting Reigns against him will automatically generate cheers for the Big Dog.
