5 Current WWE superstars who are yet to win a main championship

Even after WWE's higher-ups released a sizeable portion of their in-ring, backstage, and office room employees throughout the COVID-19 pandemic in the name of budget cuts, the promotion maintains an extremely large roster filling up their weekly shows.

Unfortunately, not everyone gets a chance to shine in the largest professional wrestling promotion in the world. Being in the main event is a different game altogether, and even regular on-screen appearances are a luxury for some talents.

However, some superstars frequently appear on television and are well-regarded by the fans, but are still unable to win a championship. Some of them have competed regularly in the WWE ring for years without championship glory.

One can only hope that they get to deservedly hold a title or two shortly, unlike one Jake Roberts, who stayed a relevant talent for years without winning one.

Here is a list of five such talents. For the sake of sanity, reigns with the 24/7 championship have not been considered on the list.

#5 WWE NXT star Mandy Rose

Mandy Rose is currently undergoing a revival of sorts on WWE NXT 2.0, where she leads Toxic Attraction. She has mostly been used as a prop in multiple storylines, as a seductress trying to charm Jimmy Uso, or as goofball Otis' romantic interest.

However, Rose has also been presented as a tag team wrestler throughout her entire WWE career alongside stars like Sonya Deville and Dana Brooke. But she has never won a championship of any kind in the company.

Now at the helm of a promising faction, Rose has her eyes set on the famed NXT Women's Championship. With WWE's fresh approach to NXT, Rose may very well go on to win the championship with Toxic Attraction acting as The Undisputed Era of the brand's women's division.

#4 WWE SmackDown superstar Mustafa Ali

Mustafa Ali's WWE career is a strange and unfortunate case. He was once seen as a remarkable prospect and was reported in line for a shot at the WWE Championship. However, the emotionally driven rise of Kofimania had to leave some side effects, and it was Ali's rising career that suffered from it.

His ring name was shortened and then reverted, and he was taken off television only to return as the heel leader of the infamous Retribution. He has since alternated between face and heel gimmicks and is nowhere near the hottest rising star of the company as he once was.

With not even a mid-card WWE title on his list of accomplishments, could Ali's luck turn at some point down the road?

#3 WWE Diva Search winner Eva Marie

WWE faces a lot of criticism for its indomitable will to push Eva Marie, a woman with negligible professional wrestling skills. Simultaneously a fashion designer, model, and occasional reality show star, Marie is, according to many fans, better off outside the world of pro wrestling.

However, the current WWE RAW superstar is surprisingly not a women's champion by this point. During her NXT career, she challenged spirited babyface Bayley for the NXT Championship in an unsuccessful attempt.

In her current run, she got involved in a timeless rivalry against former protege Doudrop, who is more suited for a championship run.

#2 WWE RAW superstar Liv Morgan

Since making her debut on the WWE main roster, Morgan was primarily a part of The Riott Squad. Strangely, she and Ruby Riott never got to win the Women's Tag Team Championships.

Morgan is a victim of the company's infamous start-stop pushes. She was booked for being a spirited babyface and considerable danger in the ring before losing a couple of matches and falling down the ladder.

This Sisyphean predicament must end at one point. The Four Horsewomen can only win so many championships, and Morgan may find herself with a title run sometime in the near future.

#1 WWE superstar Elias

WWE's ruining of Elias is one of the company's greatest failures of recent times. The Drifter carried his outlandish gimmick with confidence and was extremely over at one point. The spectators were ready to walk with Elias, but the company was not.

Elias' in-ring work is hardly spectacular, but his charisma makes up for it. Unlike most singer characters in professional wrestling, he can sing and play the guitar. His talents, however, did not stop him from becoming fodder for John Cena in multiple Wrestlemania events.

Elias won the 24/7 championship and it is hardly an honor. He has now shed his drifter gimmick and currently finds himself a free agent. His new gimmick may finally lead him to championship glory, or send him into further obscurity.
