5 Surprises that could happen on the final SmackDown before WrestleMania- Goldberg attacked by monstrous WWE star, Big face turn

And then, there was one. There will only be one final pitstop before WrestleMania 36 comes around and it is the go-home episode of WWE SmackDown on FOX.

Because this is going to be the most unique WrestleMania in history, expect the go-home show to be no less exciting. Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard must have whipped up a concoction of exciting television content that they will unleash upon us this week.

#5 Braun Strowman attacks Goldberg setting up a feud

It is very common knowledge by now that Roman Reigns will not be a part of WrestleMania in the year 2020. And yes, rumors do indicate that it will be Braun Strowman who steps up to the plate to take on the current Universal Champion. But to have a match between Goldberg and Braun Strowman with no build at all would be strange.

So, maybe the simplest solution would be to have Goldberg getting decimated by Braun Strowman to build him up as a believable contender before their big match. In most cases, WWE would refrain from doing so.

But this is Braun Strowman we're taking about- an actual monster among men. If SmackDown goes off the air with Goldberg lying in a heap, a lot of people will be intrigued to watch WrestleMania to see how the match plays out.

#4 Bayley betrays Sasha Banks, turning her babyface

If Sasha Banks were to attack Bayley ahead of their match at WrestleMania 36, both women would become heels and this is probably not a spot that WWE wants them to be in. And this is why Bayley should be the one attacking Sasha Banks, turning her babyface to make her a crowd favorite again.

We know that Sasha Banks can definitely work as a babyface without losing any of the oomph that makes her so special and so very beloved to the WWE Universe. And then what seems like a random multi-woman match at WrestleMania could have a very definite plotline and the ultimate showdown could come down to Sasha Banks and Bayley.

And who knows? Maybe someone like Naomi could capitalize on the whole situation and sneak a victory during the match.

A babyface Sasha Banks could go on to feud with the likes of The IIconics and many others to elevate them to the next level. She could even face a returning Nia Jax.

#3 Special stipulation added for Elias vs. King Corbin

We have seen Michael Cole making matches these days and this could be a very unique twist that he introduces into the mix. We could potentially see Michael Cole make an announcement on SmackDown saying that he's got word from the back about a development.

King Corbin threw Elias from a very tall structure the other day, and to make things even, I have a feeling that Michael Cole could certainly announce that the match at WrestleMania will be designed in such a manner that it favors Elias over Corbin. It could be a guitar on a pole match, and while there is no reason why Elias should have the advantage in such a match, let's just say that in WWE fiction, it could make sense.

It could also be a great way for Elias to score the biggest victory of his entire career and protect Corbin while doing so because he could get his heat back by defeating Elias again in an ordinary match subsequently.

#2 Mandy Rose becomes the special guest referee

Otis and Dolph Ziggler will be settling their differences in a grudge match at WrestleMania, and one would tend to believe that the big prize at the end of the night would be Mandy Rose. Except Rose has made it clear that she is not some prize to be fought over, and that she doesn't want to be treated as an object, which is fair. So what role will she play in the match, if she plays one at all?

I think that having her as the special guest referee may add a very interesting spin to the whole clash. And she could maybe even turn heel during the course of the match and essentially cost Otis the contest, becoming Dolph Ziggler's valet for good. I know that in today's day and age, a valet is usually frowned upon but there would be no Macho Man Randy Savage if you took away Miss Elizabeth from the mix.

Or maybe she calls it down the middle, and Otis wins, and speaks his heart out to her, finally winning her over.

#1 Roman Reigns attacked by a mysterious assailant

So, before you gear up for WrestleMania, we strongly recommend that you check out Gary Cassidy's chat with Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc. The two men run through the card in great detail and discuss the specifics of some of the contests.

One thing that we do know for sure is that Roman Reigns will not be a part of WrestleMania owing to medical reasons. And while he can always cite that as the reason for bowing out of the contest, one thing that we know as WWE fans is that any incident like this presents a unique opportunity for the bookers.

And this is why I think that we could find Roman Reigns knocked out in the backstage area, which could be filmed at his home or someplace safe separately, and this could be used as a storyline moving forward. When Roman Reigns comes back to WWE, he could go after whoever knocked him down in that manner.

Maybe The Usos could investigate in his absence too.
