WWE News: WWE recognizes top Superstar's incredible winning streak 

What's the story?

WWE's official Instagram account recently posted a photo, recognizing Kofi Kingston's winning streak.

Kofi Kingston has now won 11 matches in a row, one of which was his history-making WWE Championship win at WrestleMania 35.

In case you didn't know...

Kofi Kingston had been struggling to break out of WWE's mid-card for around a decade. His WWE career was filled with impressive accomplishments, including his association with The New Day, a gimmick that gave a new life to his waning career.

Ali's injury led to Kofi getting inserted into the Elimination Chamber match at the PPV of the same name, on the road to WrestleMania. Kingston ran with the opportunity and delivered in the gauntlet match on the go home show of the PPV, as well as inside the chamber. This resulted in the birth of KofiMania, a fan-led movement with the sole purpose of forcing WWE to give a title opportunity to Kofi.

Kofi won the WWE Title at WrestleMania 35, when he defeated The Planet's Champion, Daniel Bryan. WWE recently honored him with the moniker of "Kofi 2 Belts".

The heart of the matter

On the March 19th, 2019 edition of SmackDown Live, Daniel Bryan pinned Kofi Kingston in the closing moments of a gauntlet match, robbing him off of the WWE Title opportunity. This was the last time Kofi lost a match in WWE.

Since then, Kofi has won eleven matches in a row, and has defeated Superstars of the stature of Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, and AJ Styles.

WWE took to Instagram and recognized Kofi's incredible winning streak with a photo, which can be seen below.

What's next?

Kofi Kingston is all set to defend his WWE Title against the recently returned Dolph Ziggler at WWE Super ShowDown on June 7th.
