Blue Box episode 9, titled I'll Be Rooting For You, commenced with Taiki and the badminton team facing the tension of the upcoming test after returning to their hometown. As Taiki neglected his studies while playing badminton, he faced difficulty with the lead of study that had accumulated, so he decided to skip badminton practice for the day.
As he was leaving, he saw Chinatsu and the basketball team practicing in the sports hall. Witnessing them, Taiki decided to practice. As days passed on, Taiki kept studying. Eventually, the tests were over, and the badminton team was about to go out to eat. Taiki, however, took the early leave because he wasn't feeling well (due to lack of sleep).
As he reached home, he started thinking about his loss against Yusa in the Prefectural Badminton Tournament. Out of nowhere, Chinatsu appeared before him and confirmed that Taiki was under the weather. Taiki wanted her to stay away so she couldn't catch his fever, but she wanted the male protagonist to stay quiet and lie on his bed.
After lying down, Chinatsu brought Taiki some udon. She then inquired about why he had set such a small goal for the future. Taiki stated that he felt like he was aiming too high. Chinatsu consoled him and wanted to keep pursuing his goal of reaching the Inter High at any cost. The episode ended with Chinatsu falling over Taiki in bed.
