Titled Three Sword Style of the Supreme Ruler! Zoro vs King, episode 1062 of the One Piece anime was a jaw-dropping experience as the fight between King, the strongest subordinate of Kaido, and Roronoa Zoro, the most powerful member of the Straw Hat Pirates after the captain Monkey D. Luffy, reached its climax.

Unleashing his newfound strength, Zoro managed to defeat King, despite the latter's incredible abilities as the heir of the Lunarian race. Admittedly, Toei Animation has given the best to enliven the final moments of the heated battle between the second-in-command men of the two enemy crews.

The artistic direction went even beyond, paying homage to Zoro's legendary achievement as a master swordsman and Conqueror's Haki user with a couple of dedicated scenes which fans praised as true gems. One Piece episode 1062 is trending worldwide, and with Toei's admirable effort, it could not be otherwise.

Fans are praising One Piece episode 1062 as one of the best in the entire anime

Factoring in his Lunarian powers, the formerly called Alber, whom Kaido recruited as his right-hand man of choice and named "King" due to his strength, was able to endure all of Zoro's attacks. This was a major feat, as Zoro's attacks packed enough power to significantly injure even Kaido himself, cutting through the latter's tough dragon scales.

After understanding that his sword Enma was testing him by draining his Haki, Zoro gained awareness of his "kingly ambitions". Understanding that to surpass Dracule Mihawk and become the World's Strongest Swordsman there's no choice but go all-out, Zoro unleashed the true power of his Haki.

Revealing his traits as a natural-born Conqueror's Haki user, Zoro ascended to new heights as a master swordsman. A testament to his strength, he was immediately able to use the Color of Conqueror to coat his body, weapons, and attacks, a feat that, according to Kaido, only a few of the most powerful fighters can replicate.

Shockingly, Zoro went even beyond. Combining the advanced versions of both Armament Haki and Conqueror's Haki, the green-haired swordsman unleashed a completely new mode, the King of Hell Style, enhancing his abilities on a whole other level.

These events turned the tides of the battle, which became a onesided annihilation in Zoro's favor. King tried to use his blindsiding speed to flank Zoro, but the latter was able to follow his movements. He blocked King's attacks and successfully counterattacked the Lunarian, wounding him with a quick but powerful slash.

King then unleashed his strongest attack, Extra Large Imperial Flaming Wings, an enormous dragon created out of his special Lunarian flames, which are as devastating as magma. The attack was absolutely threatening, as in the One Piece world magma is stronger than fire.

However, even the magma dragon was overpowered, marking the end of the fight. Jumping high in the air, Zoro unleashed his King of Hell: Three Sword Serpent: Dragon Damnation, which consisted of a tremendous descending slash enhanced with Conqueror's Haki and Armament Haki.

The strike destroyed King's technique and left the Lunarian ultimately beaten, with his chest deeply cut, one of his wings sliced off, and his sword broken in half despite being coated in Armament Haki.

Remembering his promise to Luffy, Zoro declared himself the "King of Hell". He then performed a special technique to move in mid-air and return to Onigashima. Sometime later, Zoro lost his senses, as the aftereffects of the Minks' medicine started kicking in, causing him to suffer double the injuries, pain, and fatigue from all his battles in Onigashima.

Toei Animation gave its best for One Piece 1062, and fans noticed it

The One Piece community widely praised not only Zoro's major power up, which allowed him to gain a dominating victory over the strongest subordinate of a Yonko but also how Toei Animation enlivened the battle in its final exchanges, doing justice to the destructive blows featured in it.

Some fans criticized the usage of pronounced colors and auras, which, in their opinion, was too exaggerated, making the animations too flashy and confusing. However, the largest part of the One Piece fandom appreciated the way Toei depicted Zoro and King's final moves, praising the notable degree of effort which was put in.

It is indeed clear that Toei employees did the best they could to gift One Piece fans a visual experience that could properly exalt a major moment for Zoro, a major character in the series. A testament to this, the animators inserted a little special highlight to tribute to the green-haired swordsman.

As can be seen, the panel where Zoro exerts his Conqueror's Haki to declare himself as the King of Hell hid a gem. In some frames the swordsman is using his Haki trails to write his name in mid-air, tracing letter after letter with a red lightning.

This was a nice homage from Toei, but the best had to come at the end of the episode. While every issue of the One Piece anime typically ends with "To Be Continued" written in red on a black background, for some selected episodes the Toei staff gets more creative, creating a special dedicated conclusion.

At the end of episode 1062, they had the "To Be Continued" inscribed screen being slashed across by a massive letter Z, similar to the trademark signature of the fictional swordsman and vigilante Don Diego de la Vega, better known as Zorro. This was a tribute to Zoro, whose name is clearly based on the iconic character.

A testament to the uniqueness of the event, Toei used special "To Be Continued" screens only in a very few episodes related to special moments, like celebrating Oden't tragic death, the showcasing of Blackbeard's newfound Devil Fruit powers, or the beginning of One Piece's post time skip narration.

Summing up, One Piece 1062 was an absolute success

Undoubtedly, fans of the series loved how Toei worked on Zoro's latest big moment in Wano. A testament to this, episode 1062 received an immense amount of interest on social media, making it the second most tweeted episode of One Piece ever, ranking only below episode 1015 in the chart.

Possibly, another even bigger evidence of the overwhelming success of episode 1062 is the fact that it obtained a stunning 9.9/10 rating on IMDb, making it the highest-rated One Piece episode on the popular site, even surpassing unforgettable moments like Roger's arrival at Laugh Tale in episode 968, as well as Ace and Whitebeard's deaths in episode 483, and, respectively, episode 485.

Interestingly enough, fans not only praised how Zoro's new Haki abilities were depicted but also appreciated the way Toei's staff did justice to King, showcasing both the capabilities and the real feelings of Kaido's right-hand man.
