The Ancient Magus' Bride is the story of a young girl, Chise Hatori, who has had an incredibly trying life and has made up her mind to be hopeless. It is in this state that she is picked up from an auction by a sorcerer who has an appearance somewhat similar to that of a beast, Elias Ainsworth. He takes her as his apprentice and further declares that she will be his bride.

This first OVA is about Chise's troubled childhood and their meeting with Elias. The story shows her past struggles and how she eventually met Elias, the sorcerer who changed her life.

The Ancient Magus' Bride: Those Awaiting a Star Part Two 2017

In the second part, the story will continue to show Chise's past and further explanation to the character.

The Ancient Magus' Bride: Those Awaiting a Star Part Three 2017

This is the last part of the OVA, concluding Chise's past, which then leads to the main series.

The Ancient Magus' Bride: Season One (2017-2018)

This part shows more of the life with Elias and how Chise starts learning magic. It also shows the different types of magical people she and her friends encounter.
