Who is Hisoka in Hunter X Hunter?

Hisoka Morow, known by various aliases such as Hisoka the Magician and Grim Reaper, plays a prominent role as an antagonist in the Hunter x Hunter anime/manga series. Previously affiliated with the Phantom Troupe, he possesses both magical abilities and a penchant for serial killing. His relentless pursuit of formidable adversaries leads him to spare those with exceptional potential, such as Gon Freecss and Killua Zoldyck.

Despite his sociopathic and malevolent nature, he can be seen as more amoral than outright evil. It's important to note that while he craves challenging opponents, he is aware of his own limitations.

For instance, he refrained from attacking Netero when the latter's guard was down and acknowledged that fighting Chrollo Lucilfer surpassed his capabilities. Hisoka's character also exhibits traits of manipulation, cunningness, and deceit, befitting his role as a magician. Throughout the series, Hisoka showcases peculiarities in his behavior.
