2015 World Championships: PV Sindhu moves into third round

PV Sindhu won her match in three games

World No.13 PV Sindhu progressed through to the third round of the Badminton World Champiomnships after a hard-fought 11-21 21-16 21-17 win over Line Kjaersfeldt of Denmark in the second round on Tuesday.

The opening game saw the Dane dominate proceedings as she raced away to an 6-1 lead and then continued to hold on that that advantage, not allowing the Indian any space to comeback and eventually won the game 11-21.

The second game began on a more even note as compared to the first and at the 7-7 mark, it was Sindhu who took the lead, winning 2 popints straight to go 9-7 up. Following that, the 20-year-old she continued to chip away with the points, never letting the advantage slip away and winning the second game 21-16.

The decider saw Kjaersfeldt take an early 4-1 lead, before Sindhu bonced back but the crucial turn in the match arrived at the 9-9 mark, when the two-time bronze medalist won 5 points consecutively to go 14-9 up and then at the 15-14 mark, won 4 more points on the trot to 19-14 up and all but seal the match in her favour. She would eventually win the fame 21-17 and move into the third round .

Here opponent there would be China’s Li Xuerui.
