IBL: Pia Zebadiah replaces Sapsiree Taerattanachai in Awadhe Warriors

Top doubles shuttler Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth of Indonesia has replaced Sapsiree Taerattanachai of Thailand in Awadhe Warriors for the remainder of the Indian Badminton League (IBL).

The World No.6 women’s doubles shuttler was in the reserve list and will Friday join the Awadhe Warriors, who decided to pick her for the remaining matches.

“I am excited to be part of the IBL and I am looking forward to the remaining matches. I will give my 100 percent and try to win as many matches as I can for my team. India is a great country with such loving crowd … I really look forward to be part of the event,” said Pia, who is World No.9 in the mixed doubles.

The Thai shuttlers are returning home to participate in their national championships which begin Aug 28.
