What's the story?

Danish badminton legend Mathias Boe entertained badminton fans on Twitter by sending a funny GIF of a 'Dab' in response to Sania Nehwal's post on her training.

In case you didn't know...

Mathias Boe is a 37-year old badminton player from Denmark, who is currently ranked World No. 2 in the BWF men's doubles rankings. Mathias Boe partners fellow Danish player Carsten Mogensen on the men's doubles circuit and the duo has been highly successful.

Boe and Mogensen won the silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics and are multiple times European Championships winners.

Mathias Boe has been a part of all three seasons of the Premier Badminton League (PBL). He played for the Awadhe Warriors in Season 1 and for the Mumbai Rockets in Season 2. He is currently a part of the Bengaluru Blasters team in Season 3.

The heart of the matter

Saina Nehwal, who plays for the Awadhe Warriors franchise in PBL 2018, posted a small video of her training regimen on her Twitter account. The shuttler was preparing for her side's clash with the Ahmedabad Smash Masters on January 2, 2018, in the ongoing league.

Mathias Boe sent a GIF as a response to Nehwal that shows a girl doing a 'Dab' with her legs. The video of Saina's training was somewhat similar to doing a 'Dab' and thus Boe responded with a unique dab video that was hilarious.

The response from Mathias Boe was incredibly funny and Saina too replied to Boe with smile emojis.

What's next?

Saina Nehwal's side, Awadhe Warriors take on the Ahmedabad Smash Masters tonight at the Babu Banarasi Das U.P. Badminton Academy in Lucknow. The Awadhe Warriors are second in the PBL 2018 standings, whereas the Ahmedabad Smash Masters are third.

Author's take

The response from Boe showed his funny side off the court and Saina's response sums it up nicely.
