PV Sindhu and Sameer Verma qualified for the BWF World Tour finals to be played at Guangzhou, China from 10th December 2018.

The star Indian shuttler, PV Sindhu qualified for the BWF World Tour Finals by finishing 6th in the race. Sindhu will look to perform very well in the upcoming big tournament which will feature the top-8 players including Tai Tzu Ying, Carolina Marin, Okuhara, Yamaguchi, Chen Yufei, Michelle Li, Ratchanok Intanon, who would play in the World Tour Finals.

There are 6 levels of tournaments and they include Super 1000 which has All England, Indonesia Open, China Open. The other 5 types of tournaments include Super 750, Super 500, Super 300 and Super 100 tournaments.

PV Sindhu lost in the final of the BWF World Championship for the 2nd successive time, and reached the semi-finals of the All England Championship, while finishing as the runners-up at the India Open and at the Asian Games 2018.

Sameer Verma, who needed to retain the Syed Modi International tournament played at Lucknow, made it into top-8, surpassing Kento Nishimoto and qualified for the top-8.

Sameer Verma defeated Chinese Lu Guangzu in the final of the Syed Modi International tournament played at Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium, Lucknow on Sunday. It was a thrilling final which went the full distance and he won it in three gruelling games.

The Chinese Lu Guangzu was on the backfoot in the first game but made a strong comeback to win the first game 21-16. Sameer Verma then showed great character by playing some brilliant badminton. The second game was a closely-fought affair, which he won 21-19. The Indian played aggressive badminton in the deciding game to win it 21-14 and progress to the World Tour Finals.

Each category will have 8 players and will be divided into two groups. Sameer Verma won the Swiss Open, the Hyderabad Open and defended the Syed Modi International Super 300 tournament.

With PV Sindhu and Sameer Verma qualifying for the prestigious tournament, let's hope that these two players can make India proud.
