Badminton was introduced at the South Asian Games (SAG) right from its commencement in 1984 which was held in Kathmandu, Nepal and has been a regular sport since then.Â
In the 13th edition of SAG, the badminton event starts from 1st December, 2019 and ends on 6th December, 2019. The event is set to take place at the Badminton Cover Hall in Pokhara
India has been the top performer in most of the editions of the Games, followed by Sri Lanka and Pakistan. In the last edition held at Guwahati and Shillong, India in 2016, India won a total of 12 medals in badminton -Â 7 gold and 5 silver across seven events - Menâs and Womenâs Singles, Menâs and Womenâs Doubles along with the Mixed Doubles and the Team events.
