With the World Series behind us and free agency on the horizon, Nathan Eovaldi has decided to add himself to a loaded pool of starting pitchers. The 34-year-old starter opted to decline his $20 million contract with the Texas Rangers for the 2025 season, instead deciding to test his value on the open market.

There are a number of high-profile starting pitchers who will be available this offseason, including Corbin Burnes, Blake Snell and Max Fried. That being said, a proven arm such as Eovaldi could draw plenty of interest across the league given the fact that he will likely come with a more affordable contract than those listed above.

Here's a look at three potential landing spots for Nathan Eovaldi in free agency

#1 - Texas Rangers

A reunion with the Texas Rangers is something that would make sense for both parties. Not only did Eovaldi win a World Series title with the Rangers, but he also already has established relationships with the team as well as a solidified role in the team's rotation.

Although the Rangers ultimately missed the postseason this year, Nathan Eovaldi was solid yet again for the team. Over 170.2 innings of work, the veteran posted a 12-8 record with a 3.80 ERA and 166 strikeouts. Texas general manager Chris Young is reportedly interested in bringing him back into the fold, making the Rangers one of the most likely landing spots for Nathan Eovaldi.

#2 - New York Mets

It's going to be an interesting offseason for the New York Mets, who have been linked to nearly every superstar on the open market. That being said, their starting rotation is one area that will need to be addressed by the club. The Mets have several free agents hitting the market that they may need to replace, including Sean Manaea, Jose Quintana and Luis Severino.

#3 - Baltimore Orioles

One of the most intriguing landing spots for Eovaldi is the Baltimore Orioles. It's safe to say that the O's underperformed in the postseason, getting swept in two games by the Kansas City Royals. Pitching was one of the team's biggest question marks all season, with several arms being shut down with injuries.

By bringing in a proven pitcher such as Nathan Eovaldi, the Orioles would not only add an experienced winner but also a solid arm in case Corbin Burnes does not return to the club. While Eovaldi may not be on Burnes' level, he would certainly help bolster the rotation.
