MLB: ALDS-Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Guardians - Source: Imagn

Tanner Bibee (12-8 3.47 ERA) started the game for the Guardians, while Reese Olson (4-8 3.53) served as the primary pitcher for the Tigers.
Biebee got himself out of the jam after setting two men on the bases. On the other hand, Tyler Holton first allowed a double to Steven Kwan, followed by walking David Fry. Kwan would go on to score after Jose Ramirez hit into fielder's choice. Fry would then come home on Josh Naylor's BI single.
This followed a pitching change for the Tigers as Olson took charge on the mound. However, he was taken for the yard by Lane Thomas for a three-run home run as the Tigers took an early 5-0 lead in the game.
After the disastrous start, Olson took control of the game, not allowing any run until he left the mound after the fifth inning. Tanner Biebee made sure to not get anything going for the Tigers' hitters in the other half of the inning. He pitched 4.2 innings, just allowing four hits and taking six strikeouts.

The Guardians added two more runs to their tally in the sixth. David Fry hit a two-run RBI double to left field off Ty Madden. It was the last scoring shot of afternoon's game as the Guardians take a 1-0 lead in the ALDS series.

About the author
Krutik Jain
Krutik Jain is a journalist who has been reporting on baseball at Sportskeeda since 2022. It was in 2018 when the baseball bug bit Krutik, and already a cricket fan, he credits baseball's rules and Clayton Kershaw's pitching to have hooked him to the game.
A Kershaw and Mookie Betts fan, Krutik rates his favorite team LA Dodgers triumphing over Tampa Bay Rays in the 2020 World Series as his best baseball moment so far. His answer to the perennial "one player from the past you could meet" question is Jackie Robinson. Despite never having seen him play, Robinson's impact, legacy and trail-blazing journey have left an indelible impact on Krutik.
A rigorous fact-checker, Krutik likes reporting on the technical aspects of the game as well as off-field elements. When not watching baseball, Krutik is busy playing cricket, staying up to date with the happenings around the world and hiking.
