Fans raving about Miles Mikolas' fantastic performance in WBC semifinal demolition of team Cuba : "Unsung hero of this game"

Miles Mikolas shone brightly for Team USA as he closed out the game against Team Cuba for a 14-2 win in the first semi-final of the World Baseball Classic (WBC) at the LoanDepot Park in Miami. Fans praised his efforts as his expertise as a relief pitcher was put to the test.

The game ended up being a one-sided contest with the hosts running away as victors. The offense was started early in the first innings by Paul Goldschmidt with a two-run-homer against Cuban starter Roenis Elias. Trea Turner took the mantle from there on as he homered in the second innings.

Turner, high off his go-ahead grand slam in the quarters, hit another home run in the sixth. Mookie Betts and Nolan Arenado also secured multi-hit games along with the two home run heroes. On the defensive side, veteran Adam Wainwright started off for Team USA giving away just one run in four innings.

But fans were overly impressed with Miles Mikolas, who played his part as a relief pitcher to brilliance with just six hits in four innings. Fans took to Twitter to show their approval.

Cardinals fans were impressed with all their players on the Team USA roster as Arenado and Goldschmidt came good for the offensive lineup, whereas Wainwright and Miles Mikolas did the job on the mound.

Other fans also praised Mikolas' efforts and hoped for a good showing in the final.

Apart from his game, fans also complimented Miles Mikolas' mustache.
